About
I make research and design teams easier to run.
I'm a research and design program manager in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 2018 I've built and run the operational side of research and design teams at Splunk, Reddit, Credit Karma, Robinhood and Meta.
I started in design operations as Splunk's first design program manager, then moved over to build research operations for its new research team. Since then I've been brought in when the foundations don't exist yet or the stakes are high: founding research operations at Reddit, writing Credit Karma's first in-person research policies, governing research data at Robinhood and running a $14–20M research budget at Meta.

How I work
Build the baseline first
Research can't scale on top of missing basics. Ethics, consent, NDAs, a budget and a way to recruit come before anything else, so that's where I start.
Account for every dollar
Research budgets cover tools, vendors, contractors, hardware and incentives. Tracking each purchase is what lets leaders make tradeoffs with real numbers.
Lead with empathy
Every process lands on a person: a researcher, a designer, a vendor, a participant. I factor the people affected into each decision, because a system people resent won't hold up, however well it's designed.
Treat participant data as a promise
People trust us with their time and their data. Retention rules, deletion requests and privacy law are part of doing research well, not paperwork around it.
